Sandra Marchewa: Pills, Thrills and Bellyaches. Going Native, Isolation Room/Gallerykit is pleased to present new work by outsider artist Sandra Marchewa. Pills, Thrills and Bellyaches made specifically for Isolation Room is a faux stained glass Tour De Force. Isolation Room invites the viewer to jump into Sandra's fanatical mixture of psychedelic patterns and occult symbols constrained within a tidy snap grid. An arbitrary color scheme and heavily textured surface, create a primitive jouissance that's hard to beat. A startling variety of mediums, ranging from silver leaf to tangerine glitter to the latest shade of nail polish, contained inside each cell of the grid, reveals her interest in the fusion of organic nature and synthetic process. http://
On September 16th & 17th, ArtDimensions Gallery & 2720 Cherokee will be hosting “Today’s Truth From Yesterday’s News”: Come join us for two evenings of great live local music and stirring artwork from over 20 local artists inspired by recycled newspaper. Fresh baked pizza available from South City Pizza Co. ! Doors open at 6 , FREE entry until 8pm! Admission is 7$

Desire in a Box. PSTL is excited to present the international traveling exhibit, Desire in a Book - Hybrid Books from a Surrealist Perspective. The exhibition opens Friday Sept. 9th and runs through Saturday January 14th. This exhibition is an uniquely appropriated art book project created by participants of the international Surrealist Movement from around the world.
